PostSubject: Hoop Garden Box - to keep critters out!   Wed Mar 23, 2011 1:31 am

With food prices and everything else going up, I decided to safeguard my veggies this year.
Maybe I went a little over board, but hey, my time/effort/money/appetite LOL!
The rat cage (to keep them and other critters out) got a little bigger than originally planned.
Course I decided to grow a lot more veggies this year so glad I did.

I wish I had consulted before planting the carrots but, live and learn.
If everything survives, I know I won't have enough room for everything.
SO I designed a Hoop Garden Box for my low growing plants and its 1-2 days
from being completed (6'x4'). I'm very happy with the progress but wooped!

See link below to see what I've been busy with! Been documenting all.

This is what's growing at my place!

(planted from seed)

(first time growing from seed - Doing very well so far!)

(from Starter plants)
Better Boy Tomatoes (not great last year but trying again)
Cherry Toms (did good last year)
Cucumbers (did great last year)
Cantalope (critters got em all last year! )

See a slide show of all I've been doing this growing season! LOTS !!

Nice slide show. You guys did a great job on that hoop garden.
I'm snatching some cukes and carrots when I come down.

PostSubject: Update HoopBox Garden Done - 3/30 see pics   Thu Mar 31, 2011 6:04 pm

Construction is done! So glad!

Plants are moved in, still transplanting some. Don't have enough room for everything
I planted/grew from seed. I'm amazed how many did so well.

I only picked the best/strongest to transplant.
Teresa is getting a tray, I hate to waste them so I hope you'll do good by them.

Will need to be transplanted in the next week. Beets & Lettuce & Cucumbers.
Sorry no carrots.
Wish I would have known you were coming sooner, I would have saved some of them for you.

I know your space is limited driving down tomorrow, guess lucky you can take
this small batch.

Here's a link to all I've been working on. >> https://s998.photobucket.com/albums/af103/AJKMR/VeggieGarden/?albumview=slideshow

Will keep ya updated as often as I can. You can always view the lastest pics using the above slideshow link!
