 Nuclear Power in the US & Florida

There are 104 nuclear power plants in the United State as of today, with many more in the works.
Following the Earthquake and tsunami in Japan last Friday (March 11, 2011) and the problems encountered there, I wonder if there would ever be enough safeguards in place to protect surrounding communities from such disasters. Would you want a NPP in your backyard (or within 70 miles of your community)?

Florida Power & Light has several plants in the works, some as close as Levy County.
